‘We go together’, art print by Katy Hayward.
‘we go together’, featuring a cheerful pair of pīwakawaka | fantail, fashionably flaunting about their newly acquired flower hats, and nestled in an array of Aotearoa | New Zealand native flora.
Pīwakawaka | fantail are small friendly birds, native to Aotearoa | New Zealand. You will often hear them making loud ‘cheeet, cheeet!’ noises, as they swoop and flit about like little acrobats, hunting for insects. They have the most beautiful fanned tail feathers that take up more than half the length of their body, enabling them to twist and turn quickly during flight.
Art work by Katy Hayward. Katy is an artist and tattoo artist who specialises in pencil drawings on paper, and unique custom fine lined art for the body. Working from her art studio on the Tutukaka Coast, just east of Whangārei, Katy draws inspiration from her surroundings of beautiful beaches decorated with native flora and fauna.
Open edition print. Originally sketched as a loose custom tattoo design for one of Katy’s wonderful clients in 2022, then revisited again in 2024 to finalise the drawing. Printed by Pinc Ltd., in Aotearoa | New Zealand onto Mohawk Superfine Eggshell in Ultra White paper stock (FSC certified mixed pulp from responsible sources).
